Brief Introduction of the Program

Department of Dance of National Taiwan University of Arts Founded 52 years ago, the Department of Dance at the National Taiwan University of Arts celebrates the centennial commemoration of Professor Li Tian-min, its founding chair, this year. To honor Professor Li’s significant contributions to the field of dance, the event is themed “Recollections.” The program is dedicated to representing some of his most renowned works, including The Dance of the Rainbow Skirt and Feathered Garments, Poem of Righteousness, Flying Apsara, Banquet Dance, and Drum Dance of Peace. Additionally, the event features dance pieces inspired by Taiwanese elements, such as Leisurely Pleasures in the Tea Hills, An Encounter with Oriental Mystery, Contemplating the Moon, and Joyful Songs Under the Bamboo Shadows, highlighting Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes.
 



Brief Introduction of the Troupe

Founded in 2005, Da-Guan Dance Theater organizes professional and exquisite performances annually. Each year, Da-Guan present a repertoire that features Chinese dance, ballet, and modern dance. By integrating the talents of artists from both inside and outside the university, they explore new horizons in dance through the use of multimedia, theater, music, fine arts, and other disciplines, blending the essence of Eastern and Western cultures. Da-Guan Dance Troupe also strengthens international cultural exchanges and has been invited to participate in major domestic and international events over the years. Their performances transcend language, cultural, and racial barriers, leading the trend in Taiwanese dance art and achieving the standards of an internationally recognized professional dance company.
